Release of Measuring Up 2008:

The National Report Card on Higher Education

San Jose, CA., and Washington, D.C.-The National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education will release Measuring Up 2008, the national and state-by-state report card on higher education, on December 3, 2008. Measuring Up is the biennial report on key indicators of performance and progress in American higher education. The study will provide new information about how the states are performing and their progress over the last eight years, and give an in-depth analysis on college access, affordability and completion rates.

An invitational symposium at the National Press Club convened by James B. Hunt Jr., former governor of North Carolina and chair of the National Center's Board of Directors, will launch a national discussion of the findings and their implications for the nation and the states.

Measuring Up 2008 will be available on the National Center's Web site, www.highereducation.org, on December 3.
